The language is beautiful but I found myself caring not even a tiny amount about any of the characters or what might happen to them. I may try to pick it up again later but for now I'm moving on.

I feel that way about Tom Wolfe.
I don't know, they're really different to me. There's no real comparison prose-wise, McCarthy's got Wolfe cold. But while I disliked A Man in Full, I read the whole damn thing in two days, the story was told in such a way that I kept starting a new chapter. Blood Meridian is boring.
